What if the answer isn’t “doing more,” but seeing differently?
At The Gathering in Colorado Springs, we’re not trying to build outward through strategy or self-effort. We’re letting God build inward—forming us through surrender, union, and love. This past Sunday, we sat with four holy declarations from John 19, each beginning with the word: Behold.
These beholds are not just commands. They are a conversion of sight. They are a call to let the veil fall from our hearts, and to see Jesus as He is—in us, among us, and forming us into His likeness.
Before the message, I shared a story some of you hadn’t heard—about how Company 318 began.
It started with a prophetic dream Lou Engle had over 20 years ago: “Celeste. Sirens. Starbucks.” For years, we pondered what “Starbucks” meant—until I heard the Lord prompt me to look up how many Starbucks there were in the U.S. That number was 15,900.
Then Chris asked: “What’s 318 times 50?”
The answer: 15,900.
It was the spark of a vision. In Genesis 14, Abraham trains 318 people in his house—those born in covenant—and they become a force of liberation. We began to ask: what would it look like to raise up 318 groups in each of the 50 states? Families, friends, communities—rooted in celestial revelation, priestly intercession, and the Gospel of union.
We call it Company 318, and it’s growing. We launched on Substack, where we share teachings and gather monthly online. It’s not a strategy—it’s surrender. A call to say “yes” to the heavenly pattern God is revealing for this hour.
This move isn’t about platforms or promotion. It’s about becoming—together.
My friend recently shared a dream from years ago: in it, she was in heaven with Jesus and the children, but wandered off to find her “room.” Later, the Lord said: “Why did you leave? I am your place.” That simple phrase has wrecked me.
We aren’t trying to find our place through ambition, comparison, or ministry success. He is our place. We are home in Him.
The Lord is resetting the church—not just here in Colorado Springs, but everywhere. The foundation is Christ. The model is love. The shape is family.
“Until we all attain to the unity of the faith… to mature manhood… to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”
— Ephesians 4:13
What’s the goal? Fullness in Christ. Maturity in love. Servanthood over status. Family over fame.
Paul doesn’t endorse Timothy because of gifting, but because of love:
“I have no one like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare… for they all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.”
— Philippians 2:20–21
This is what we long for at The Gathering. A people who behold Jesus so fully that His life flows through every part—our families, friendships, worship, workplaces, and witness.
John 19 reveals four distinct moments where we’re invited to behold Christ. These beholds shape us. They dismantle religion and reveal true identity. They are not just historical—they are prophetic lenses for the Church today.
“Behold, I am bringing Him out to you… I find no guilt in Him.” (John 19:4)
This is the inspection before Passover. Pilate unknowingly plays priest, presenting Jesus as the spotless Lamb.
Heaven says: Behold the Innocent One—your sacrifice.
“Behold the Man!” (John 19:5)
Jesus stands—crowned with thorns, robed in mockery. And yet, here is Adam restored.
He does not accuse. He suffers without retaliation.
This is not only a revelation of Christ, but of humanity reconciled.
“What Christ is, He reveals men to be.” — Westcott
“Behold your King!” (John 19:14)
Pilate mocks, but heaven speaks.
This is the King lifted high—not on a throne, but on a cross.
His rule is mercy. His crown is thorns. His scepter is surrender.
“Woman, behold your son… Behold your mother.” (John 19:26–27)
Here, Jesus forms His new family—not by blood, but by the cross.
This is the Church: born at the foot of Jesus.
Not an organization. A family. Formed in union.
These beholds lead us somewhere—into union, into humility, into family.
We are not trying to manufacture something. We’re saying yes to what He is knitting together.
“You won’t become who you’re called to be by striving. You’ll become by beholding.”
This is our prayer:
—That we would be a people of the upside-down kingdom
—That we would behold Christ in one another
—That our lives would burn with surrender, not ambition
At The Gathering, we want to be a church where your life is lit on fire. Where your story is knit into His. Where His voice becomes louder than striving, and love becomes the measure of all things.
If you’re looking for a church in Colorado Springs that teaches the union of Christ, lives in community, and is saying yes to God’s kingdom—not man’s model—we’d love to meet you.
We gather every Sunday and on alternate Wednesdays for communion and prayer. To be part of Wednesday nights, please sign up in the footer to receive updated locations. We also share teachings nationally through Company 318 on Substack.
