A message by Chris Berglund at The Gathering, Colorado Springs
At The Gathering in Colorado Springs, we’ve been diving into the mystery of God’s eternal purpose—the story of redemption that unfolds from Genesis to Revelation. This past Sunday, Pastor Chris Berglund shared a powerful message titled “The War of Two Seeds,” revealing how the story of the serpent and the woman weaves through Scripture, pointing us to Christ—the Seed who crushes the head of the enemy.

From the garden of Eden to the cross, Scripture tells of a seed war—the ongoing conflict between the serpent’s deception and God’s promise of a Redeemer.
In Genesis 3:15, God speaks to the serpent:
“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed. He shall crush your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
This prophetic word set history in motion. From Cain and Abel to David and Goliath, from Athaliah’s attempt to destroy the royal line to Herod’s massacre of the innocents, the enemy has always sought to destroy the seed of promise. Yet in every generation, God preserves His covenant line, until the promise is fulfilled in Christ.
Chris reminded us that the battle is not just ancient history—it’s alive in us. The war of two seeds continues wherever the enemy contests our identity as sons and daughters of God.
When we forget who we are, we lose sight of what we’re called to do. But the good news is that Jesus, the Seed of the woman, has already crushed the serpent’s head. The victory is finished—and now Christ lives His life through us.
“It’s not us defeating the enemy again—it’s Christ continuing His victory through His people.”
This revelation reframes everything. We don’t strive to become righteous; we yield to the life of Christ within us. The invitation isn’t to try harder, but to surrender deeper.
From the beginning, God’s purpose for humanity has never changed. Before sin entered the world, His plan was for man to rule and reign in union with Him. Forgiveness through the blood of Jesus was necessary—but it was never the end goal.
As Chris said:
“Jesus didn’t come merely to forgive sins. He came to restore us into union—to raise us up with Him to rule and reign.”
This is the mystery of the Melchizedek order: a royal priesthood of people fully yielded to the life of Christ. We were made to live from the inside out, not grasping for life apart from God but allowing His love to flow freely through us.
Here at The Gathering Colorado Springs, we believe this is not a distant theological idea—it’s an invitation for our city today. God is raising up a people who live in the reality of communion, not separation; surrender, not striving.
During worship, our church prayed together for a generation that knows who they are—children who dream God’s dreams, youth who live from revelation, and adults who are learning to lay down old systems and live from the rest of Christ.
As we sang:
“Come and behold Him, isn’t He captivating?
We’ll keep on singing for all of eternity.”
This is our heart as a church in Colorado Springs: to build a community centered on union, prayer, and communion with Christ—where His presence transforms everything.
